WPPI 2014

Inspiration, education and more inspiration in this incredible week at WPPI 2014 in Las Vegas (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International).

The photography industry is boiling!!! Albums are back, big time as well as large and medium format cameras such as good old Hasselblad, Mamiya, Leica, etc. (if you have a spare $20K-$40K for a camera).
It seems that consumers realize again that no matter how good is the new camera you just bought, it’s all about the artist. Put two photographers in the same event with the same equipment and you’ll get two different stories.

I was fortunate to meet, talk and learn from a few of the most influential photographers of our time. Photographer Mark Seliger (just google him to see his work, wow,), Australian wedding photographer Yervant (top 5 wedding photographers worldwide), NYC headshot and portrait photographer Peter Hurley, very emotional class by Gary Fong, (including a picture, yes, I was the first one to buy his new lightbulb adapter kit) and many other photographers/educators such as Sal Cincotta , Lori Nordstrom Tamara Lacky , Jared Platt and Sue Bryce to name a few.

I played some, (Hey, it is Vegas) and partied some (it’s Vegas) and it was great to reconnect with all my vendors and thank all the people that work so hard to get my orders and products shine, true artisans of their craft. I learned about all the exciting new products that will be available later this year and I can’t wait to add them to my catalog.

It was busy, it was great, and it’s good to be back home.
