Last weekend was very busy for our daughter working hard on her Mount Vernon school project. The project is now done (it came out beautiful) and we were thinking what to do with it now? What do you do with all these school projects? The kids work so hard to make them, it’s heartbreaking to throw them away even if the kids are okay with it, but how can you keep them all? Anyway, ‘we’ decided to give it one more week of grace period before we say goodbye to it and let it go, but this is not what I wanted to write about.
I went out to our recycling station and as usual I looked around Mary’s Swap Shop to see if there are any new ‘findings’, and on one of the shelves, sitting quietly, hiding, almost waiting patiently for me to find it, guess what? a real vintage photo of Mount Vernon, Virginia from 1955, 59 years ago!!! What are the chances? I’m the last person to believe in fate, but this is quite a coincidence.
ps. I also got two very awesome vintage flags and two very cool hats. My lucky day.
